Departure

Well, the time has come. We are leaving for Catalina this coming Sunday. We are really excited for this chapter of our lives to begin. It will be a great segue into the future we are shaping for ourselves. It will be hard to leave family and friends that we have grown close to. Especially since Matt and Hill will be having their first baby and our family's first grandchild and niece, Priya, just a few weeks after we leave. It is all OK, though. You may or may not hear from us until the end of August, but hopefully we'll get a few updates out . . .
Cheers and have a most excellent summer!

Petzl and Beyond

I've been waiting to interview for a marketing job with Petzl America for a few months. I had the interview a couple of weeks ago and it went really well. Since we're going to camp for the summer, they are not considering my application for the marketing job anymore, but they want me to come back and interview for another position they'll be hiring for in the fall. It's in the marketing department still, but would deal mainly with marketing on the web and maintaining their website. That would be so great if things worked out for that job. If not, Ashlee is also applying for a position at West Point Academy in New York. She would be teaching gymnastics and rock climbing. I'd go with her, of course. I'd just have to find something to do . . . :) There are so many opportunities out there. We know everything will work out for the best and that, really, we can choose to do what we love and get paid to do it. Attract the opportunity and it will present itself . . .

Catalina Island or Bust

So here's the news . . .
Ashlee and I are going to find ourselves on Catalina Island on June 8. We will be working at Camp Cherry Valley for the summer! Catalina is a desert island located off the coast of California, 25 miles from L.A. Here are a few links about the camp and island.

The new year

2008 definitely crept up on us. We're looking forward to a great year, however. I'm hoping to land a marketing job with Petzl America, a leading manufacturer of rock climbing equipment. Now that Ashlee is done with school, she is going to go back to school. Probably in esthetics! We are blessed to have so much opportunity in view. Life is good . . .
